Openings delayed to many recreation areas

Plumas National Forest

With more than 700” of snow reported in some areas in the Tahoe Sierra, openings for many campgrounds, seasonal visitor centers, parks, trails, OHV road and many other sites have been delayed. Below are some of the tentative opening dates for some popular recreation areas in the region. Before visiting any site this summer, check in advance for current operating schedules, which may change.

Visit reservecalifornia.com for up-to-date information on campgrounds openings and to make reservations. Find a list of local campgrounds at TheTahoeWeekly.com/camping.

As well, access to D.L. Bliss State Park through the main road is closed for the 2023 season for work on the water system. This includes the campground, along with public access to the beach and trailheads using the road.
