Sample the Sierra, South Lake Tahoe’s farm-to-fork festival, will celebrate its 10th anniversary of regional foods, wines, beers and spirits at Bijou Community Park on Sept. 14. The event has grown into a sold-out festival that attracts more than 1,500 residents, foodies and international visitors alike.
The event also features the Sierra Chef Challenge, with amateur chef Michael Sheldon, chef Michael Lynard of Cold Water Brewery & Grill, chef Andrew Anderson of Gunbarrel Tavern & Eatery, chef Lonny Huot of Edgewood Tahoe and chef Dean Hiatt of Poor Red’s each creating two dishes within 45 minutes.
The fest will include more than 20 booths of wineries, distilleries or breweries paired with a restaurant using local produce in signature dishes. Advance tickets are $50 for adults and $40 for ages 20 and younger and designated drivers. Tickets are $55 and $45, respectively, at the gate. | samplethesierra.com
