Fundraiser for Penny Bear

Tahoe Public Art is raising money to keep the installation “Ursa Mater” permanently in Tahoe City and is seeking donations.

Ursa Mater (Mother Penny Bear), created by husband and wife artists Robert and Lisa Ferguson, is a 12-foot tall mother grizzly bear. The two cubs are surrounded by their mother, the tallest being 6-feet and the other standing at 5 feet. The sculpture is made from 200,000 pennies and is a statement of a mother’s love and protection. The group needs to raise $15,000 to keep the art installation. | gofundme.com, tahoepublicart.com
