A call for art inspired by the railroad

The sesquicentennial (150 years) of the Transcontinental Railroad is coming down the track. To celebrate the arrival of this momentous anniversary of the railroad in Truckee and Donner Summit, Truckee Public Arts Commission is calling artists to submit train-related art: boxcars or crossbucks, in any media; creativity is encouraged. This is an open call. The submission deadline for the Gold Spike Sesquicentennial Exhibit is April 19. The show will be on display from May to October 2019.

There will be an opening reception on May 10 at Truckee Community Recreation Center from 5 to 7 p.m. with tunes from Richard Blair. | [email protected]
