6 feet in 4 days for Tahoe

The storm totals from Jan. 14 to Jan. 18 measured up to 4 feet at the bases and 6 feet at the peaks for some Tahoe Sierra resorts. Jan. 18 will be cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow above 7,000 feet and rain showers below and snow accumulations of a few inches. Sun is expected on Jan. 19 with temperatures in the high 40s and light winds at around 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Scattered snow, rain through MLK weekend

On Jan. 20, a wetter storm will move in during the late afternoon and continue throughout the night, bringing possibly 1 to 3 inches at the bases and up to 6 to 18 inches at the peaks. A dry trend will build on Jan. 21, which should be mostly sunny in the low 30s, and continue into the last week of January.
