New Boys & Girls Club site open in Truckee

Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe opened a new site in Truckee at Alder Creek Middle School that will serve youth in Grades 6 to 8. Katie O’Brien will be the manager for the new site; she had been the STEM manager at the Boys & Girls Clubhouse in Kings Beach.

Programming will run on Tuesdays through Thursdays from school release at 2:15 until 5:30 p.m. An after-school snack, organized play and specialized programs will be offered each day.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child in our area has access to quality out-of-school-time programs and hopefully the new Alder Creek Middle School site makes that possible for more kids,” said Mindy Carbajal, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, in a press release. “We are so excited to be expanding.”

The membership fee for the Alder Creek Middle School site is $100 for the year; the fee enables members to attend programming at the Clubhouse in Kings Beach, as well, which serves youth from Grades K to 12. For more information, call (530) 582-3760 or e-mail |
