These races are not spartan

For the fourth year, the Spartan World Championship Powered by Rakuten take place at Squaw Valley on Sept. 29 and 30. Athletes from more than 30 countries will congregate on the course with a shared goal: to be the Spartan Race World Champion. This highly anticipated obstacle-racing weekend will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days of racing. The Beast is 12 to 14 miles and has up to 35 obstacles to overcome, the Ultra Beast is 26-plus miles and contains more than 50 obstacles and the Kids is a half mile to 1 mile. Cheer on friends and family or just watch as these incredible athletes compete for the title.

Spectator tickets are $35 for adults and $31 for ages 5 to 17. A special Tram-Access ticket will be available Friday through Sunday for spectator access to the upper-mountain course. | squawalpine.com
