The 38th annual Squaw Mountain Run takes place on July 28 at 9 a.m. This 3.6-mile run or hike has a 2,000-foot elevation gain from the base of KT-22 to Squaw Valley’s High Camp. There is also a guided Flower Walk at High Camp with John Roos of Tahoe Institute for Natural Science, and a Yoga for Life class. Both are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and come with a free Cable Car ride to High Camp. There are cash prizes for finishers in the Hill Climb Race and the first, second and third man or woman finishers.
Proceeds support Auburn Ski Club Training Center programs and Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation for programs and services at the Gene Upshaw Memorial Cancer Center.
Tickets bought before July 27 are $45 each; junior tickets for ages 20 and younger are $30; on July 27, tickets are $50 and $35, respectively; on the day of the race, tickets are $65 and $50. | (530) 426-3313, auburnskiclub.com
