North America’s premier wooden boat show – Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance – returns to the historic Obexer’s Boat Company in Homewood on Aug. 10 and 11. In celebration of the show’s 46th year, the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation announces the return of one of the most popular Marque Classes – Original Tahoe Boats. Tickets for the event are now on sale.

The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance is a showcase of the most well-preserved and restored wood boats in the world. Presented by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, it is the longest running boat show on Lake Tahoe and is unsurpassed in its exhibition and preservation of boating and maritime tradition. Over the past four and a half decades, it has become the most acclaimed and prestigious wooden boat show in all of North America.

Many social events help to add to the festivities of Wooden Boat Week and the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance including the Exhibitors’ Barbecue and Awards Presentation, the Opening Night Gala dinner and dance, along with a Men’s Grill, Ladies’ Luncheon on the Lake and Woodie Over-The-Bottom race. All events are open to the public. Reservations for these events are limited and will sell out.

Tahoe’s love affair with woodies dates back to the early 1900s. In their heyday, the boats were the ultimate toys for the wealthy elite to play on the lake’s crystal clear waters. After more than a century, Original Tahoe Boats remain the epitome of luxury and leisure. Their stunning craftsmanship has become a symbol of Lake Tahoe history.

Each year, a Marque Class is selected by a panel of nationally recognized classic boat experts and judges to exhibit at the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance. Each individual Marque Class is designed to bring a unique element and theme to the show and ensures boating enthusiasts a new educational and viewing experience year after year. Boat registration for the show is also open through June 30. |
