Literary essays sought for book

Bona Fide Books in Meyers seeks literary essays for “Permanent Vacation,” a collection about life and work in national parks. In Volume 1, readers enjoyed tales of grizzly encounters and streaking through Denali, personal relationships with temperamental elk in Yellowstone, and on finding beauty in housekeeping in Yosemite National Park. Now, Bona Fide is seeking more of those stories from the national parks. Whether you spent your time building trails or alligator-proofing a cabin, the publishers is looking for writers to share his or her experiences, cerebral and corporeal.

From Haleakala to the Everglades, Bona Fide wants to hear the tree-hugging epiphanies and vocational escapades. What happened there? How did you get hooked? What keeps you coming back?

Each writer whose work is selected will receive $100 for his or her essay and one copy of the collection, which will publish in spring 2018. The deadline is Dec. 1. Visit Web site for details. |
