Auburn Ski Club readies for 2017-18 season

Auburn Ski Club Training Center on Donner Summit provides a one place fits all solution for families looking for top-notch and affordable winter recreation opportunities. The center offers free parking, a Winter Sports facility, 25km Cross-Country Center and competition venue, private downhill race arena at Boreal Mountain Resort and more.

The Training Center is usually the first cross-country center in Tahoe to open each season and the last to close from its location at 7,200 feet on Donner Summit.

Cross-country programs start at age 2 and progress through USSA competition teams. ASCTC’s ski and snowboard programs have been introducing children to winter sports for decades. This year some additions to the alpine offerings include a comp/devo team for alpine racers ages 10 to 18 competing in Tahoe League and Far West divisions. On the snowboard side, there are nine program choices serving beginning riders up to World Cup-level athletes.

The biathlon program, directed by former Olympian Glenn Jobe, trains biathletes age 10 and older with youth, junior and senior/masters’ divisions, as well as clinics and races throughout the season open to the public. Online registration is now open. | auburnskiclub.com
