The Ritz-Carlton breaks ground on new lakefront location

Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe

The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe announced plans for a new lakefront project, The Lake Club, located in Tahoe Vista. Designed by local architect Clare Walton, the Lake Club will be a multi-level restaurant and bar with a lawn, beach access and a private boat pier. Floor to ceiling windows provide panoramic views of the lake.

“Our intention is to create a space that complements the rugged landscape with a clean, modern aesthetic,” said Walton, principal architect of Tahoe City-based Walton Architecture + Engineering, in a press release.  “The transparency of our design allows guests to connect immediately with the setting and flow seamlessly between interior and exterior social gathering spaces.”

In addition to offering the same level of luxury service and amenities at its mid-mountain location at Northstar Resort,  the Ritz-Carlton has partnered with Tahoe Adventure Company and Action Water Sports to provide wave runners, luxury boat rentals, parasailing, waterskiing, wake surfing, charter fishing, and Formula yacht and sailing charters on the “Sierra Cloud.”

“The launch of the Lake Club will provide our guests with luxury amenities and private access to Lake Tahoe along with limitless summer recreational activities,” said Joseph Mattioli, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, in a press release.  “The addition of the Lake Club will allow The Ritz-Carlton to offer a one-of-a-kind luxury resort experience, one that includes both direct access to the mountain and to the lake, a first for the Lake Tahoe region.”
Construction of the project began on June 8. Guests of the Ritz-Carlton will enjoy exclusive access to the Lake Club beginning in summer of 2017. |
