Plumas Pines Golf Course

Plumas Pines Golf Resort runs through a valley with the Feather River and Plumas National Forest on its border and snow-capped Mills Peak. At 6,421 yards, you might think it will be an easy run for your game. Think again.

This Homer Flint-designed golf course offers spectacular views of its gorgeous surroundings and features arguably the toughest opening stretch in the Lake Tahoe region. After seeing how narrow the fairways are, golfers usually do not argue. However, after these first four menacing holes, the course opens up and allows for more scoring opportunities.

 Toughest Hole

The second hole will likely provide you with a real test of your golfing ability measuring 393 yards this par 4 is a demanding hole, as well as being the No. 1 handicap hole. The Feather River lines the fairway on the left. Along with the narrow fairway, the challenge will continue on the green, which also can be demanding, especially with certain hole locations.

 Signature Hole

The par 5 13th hole offers incredible views from the tee and requires both length and precision. The second shot will have you hitting from a more open fairway to a large green that is sloped from back to front. Long hitters can reach the green on two. However, for those who decide to lay up, beware of the sand traps on the right and the creek bed on the left just short of the green.

Longboards Bar & Grill offers hearty entrees with an Italian flare and warm, friendly service, along with incredible views of the course and the surrounding countryside. Also, they have arguably the most picturesque driving range next to the clubhouse. The prices are $5 per bucket, each bucket includes 50 balls.
