Riding Tahoe singletrack

Truckee resident Jeremy Benson recently released the newest guidebook “Mountain Bike: Tahoe. 50 Select Singletrack Routes.” The book is the first of a new mountain bike guidebook series from Mountaineers Books.

The book features the best sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail, top trail networks, the Flume Trail, Corral Trail and more, all with turn-by-turn route descriptions, trailhead directions and topo maps. Featured trails range from lightning fast downhills to cross-country classics to back-country adventures.

“The mileage log, the trail notes, are very easy to follow. Especially in Tahoe, where the trail systems can be complex,” says Tahoe Weekly’s Ann Artoux, who used the guidebook recently to try the Martis Peak to Kings Beach trail, No. 14 in the book.

Benson has been living and mountain biking in the Tahoe Sierra since 2001. He is also the author of the forthcoming “Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Routes: California,” also from Mountaineers Books. | mountaineersbooks.org or @jeremywbenson
